Autumn Trends: Dark Lips and Black Velvet

Hello Everybody,

Firstly, I must apologise for my lack of posts recently,I have been super busy with rehearsals and the likes but now I'm back and ready to blog. (yay!)

Today's post is going to be about my two most favourite trends this Autumn. Dark lips and black velvet. For this I've chosen Topshop's 'Beguiled' lipstick which is a very wearable dark purple. Even though it looks quite scary here it really doesn't come out as dark when applied, which I must admit I was slightly disappointed about. More of a deep fuchsia, though you can layer it to create a deeper colour. (as long as you're not planning on eating anything any time soon!) Never fear, it's still one of my favourite lipsticks and I've been wearing it non stop this season.

If you know me, you know how much I love my bows and when I saw this one in Topshop I couldn't resist. It's not actually classified as a hair accessory which I find rather odd (what else would you do with it?!) and comes with a safety pin attached. After some fairly straight-forward mangling with a kirby grip or two I sorted it out. I adore how the texture adds a whole new dimension to the look, not to mention it's so soft and cuddly too. Dark, daring and a little bit glamorous.

Just to note, I'm wearing red lipstick here, not purple!
I really hope you've enjoyed reading this post, what's your favourite trend this Autumn?

More Autumn here.

Sweater Weather TAG

Hello Everyone,
Since tags seem to be incredibly popular on my blog and I enjoy answering the questions so much, I thought it was only fitting to do The Sweater Weather TAG, considering the climate has recently developed into definite "sweater weather". (hooray!)

1. Favourite candle scent?

I don't really burn candles because I'm paranoid I'll burn the place down ( #funfactaboutme) Although I do really like the smell of a crackling wood fire (in a fire place obviously..) and also the smell of damp leaves and hot coco.

2. Coffee, tea or hot chocolate?

All three please. I drink green tea everyday and I enjoy a nice mug of hot chocolate of coffee once in a while too.

3. What's the best Autumn memory you have?

Probably picking out a Halloween costume or melting marshmallows on the fire.

4. Which make-up trend do you prefer: winged eye liner or dark lips?

This is really hard but I think it has to be dark lips. I love wearing a dark lip. I'm desperate to get my hands on a really deep purple.

5. What do you want to be for Halloween?

Queen Elsa from frozen..LET IT GOOO, LET IT GOOO. (is that sad? I don't think it's that sad and plus I'll seize any chance to get into costume)

6. Hats or scarves?

Scarves, or snoods to be specific. Hats mess up my already messy hair.

7. Most worn jumper?

My grey and white owl print jumper from New Look because it's warm and snuggly.

8. Favourite Autumn nail polish?

This is tough because I have a love-hate (mostly hate) relationship with nail polish because I can't seem to find one that does what it says on the tin. Colour wise I love deep berry or burgundy.

9. Skinny jeans or leggings?

I live in leggings. For comfort, ease, style and you can even get fur lined leggings!

10. Boots or uggs?

I live in a very damp Irish climate and to this day have never understood the Ugg boot craze ( they get wet ALL the time and they look like hooves?) and so I must go with plain old boots.

I really hope you have enjoyed this post, let me know what your favourite thing about Autumn is.

OOTD: A Study in Casual

Hello Everyone,

Today I've got an Outfit of the Day post for you. I wore this outfit travelling on the bus to the city so I wanted a comfortable, relaxed style as I would be doing a lot of toing and froing. A casual outfit with a pop of colour to lift the whole look. By teaming a standard jeans and top combo with a red stripe cardi, you create a quirky student sort of vibe. Day return please driver.

(PS: do excuse the lighting)

Knitted Cardigan - Marks and Spencer
Blue Marl top - Marks and Spencer
Light wash jeggings - Marks and Spencer
Frilly socks - Topshop
Watch - Marks and Spencer
Shoes - Nike

(I do not work for M&S I just like their clothes just so we're clear) #nostaffdiscountforme #sob

For my hair, I went with my go-to 'Belle' half up-half down. If you would like to see a tutorial on this hairstyle then make sure you let me know and I will happily do so. (I do love it v. v. much)

I really hope you enjoyed reading this post, let me know what your go-to casual outfit is.

Remember to follow this blog on bloglovin and I will love you forever and of course you will become part of the Nymph clan.
