How to: wash make up brushes

Hello Everyone,

Today I am going to tell you how I wash my make up brushes. Washing your make up brushes is really important. If you don't, lots of germs and bacteria can grow on your brushes not to mention all the old make up - yuck! Got lots of slightly orange icky looking brushes sitting on your dressing table? Don't fret, everyone's guilty of putting if off! I'm going to show you the easiest way to wash those brushes!

- dirty make up brushes
- a sink or running water
- kitchen roll
- sensitive soap of your choice, Johnson's baby wash is quite good.

STEP 1: Select a brush and wet it by running under some water.

STEP 2: Pump a pea size amount of soap onto the back of your hand.

STEP 3: Swirl your brush into the soap until it lathers.

STEP 4: Rinse your brush by running it under some water and squeezing the bristles with your fingers.

STEP 5: Place on a sheet or two of kitchen roll to dry off.

STEP 6: Repeat!

TOP TIP! Use a sensitive soap to ensure your hands don't become sore after washing.

TOP TIP! Alter the steps to suit the brush - you may need to use more soap or a second wash on bigger/ dirtier brushes.

TOP TIP! Real Techniques brushes wash brilliantly and come out looking as good as new!

I really hope you've enjoyed this post, let me know how you like to wash your make up brushes!

Until the next post,

Niamh xx
